the daily distraction

persian blog-o-sphere: it's huge. i was surprised i wasn't hearing more about the iranian earthquake being compared to the california quake. while i know that the most important thing is to get aid to iran and maybe not squabble over the obvious reasons why one country experienced little damage (comparably) and another has been devestated, i myself can't seem to shake this need to compare.

so i thought maybe there were some persian bloggers out there doing the same. some persian bloggers? my god, it might be its own sub-culture. and while i didn't really see anyone talking about the comparisons, it was really easy to get sucked into these blogs. to read how passionately these people feel for their country, their countrymen, and their national treasures. as we all do, i'm sure. but when tragedy hits, hearts seem to sprint to the homeland.

so today's daily distraction is days of my california life, the blog of a persian girl living in orange county. she has links to other blogs that have links to other blogs and you can learn quite a bit in little bite-sized blog bits.

meanwhile, please donate money (one of these blogs recommends not going through red cross) to help iran.
