well, i had heard about it, but finally tonight i clicked the link and heard the dirty little secret for myself. the ipod's battery only lasts about 18 months... and the only way to replace it is to send it in to apple and have them retrofit... for 250 smackers. shoot — double and triple shoot — as i just bought my ipod second hand via ebay when it was just about a year old. can i get a rzzl frzzl? the only silver lining might be that this grass roots campaign may inspire apple to create a more affordable alternative... and pronto.
